During his career Ryan Jones has won some of the biggest Speedway events South Australia has to offer including the George Tatnell Cup and the Ross Wright Memorial and he almost added the Tim Crouch Memorial to his resume but he came up one spot short as he claimed the runner-up position in the prestigious Speedcar event. Not only was Jones the leading South Australian in the 30 lap finale but his result was also the best so far for a South Australian during the inaugural Speedcar Pro Series.
The POWRi Australian Midget Super Series 50th Anniversary Feature race was run and won last night (Dec 7) by defending champion (and Australian Midget champion) Nathan Smee, who not only celebrates back-to-back wins for the series but also three-from-three for his last three appearances at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway.
It had it all slide jobs, spins and smashes but when the chequered flag flew it was Nathan Smee the victor in the Midget Super Series round at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway on December 7, collecting the ‘Big Cheque’ for $2500 for his efforts.
The POWRi Australian Midget Super Series (Round 5) 50th Anniversary Feature Race has been run and won by defending series champion and current Australian Midget champion Nathan Smee. Matt Smith dominated the race until 5 laps remained – a brief exchange for the lead in turns one and two with Smee - but Smith held on to the lead down the back straight until his right rear tyre blew at the start of the next lap.
Australian Midget Car Champion Nathan Smee is back again this Saturday night (Dec 7) at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway as Round 5 of the POWRi Australian Midget Super Series rolls into town. Smee has won both of his last two starts here and will aim to make it three wins in a row.
